Top tips: advances in hot runners

Hot runner technology can help moulders to streamline their operations with shorter cycle times – as well as bypassing the need to collect and recycle sprues. At this year’s K show, suppliers showed off a variety of new systems.

Systems included:

• an injection moulding tool for automotive parts that delivers a “flawless surface”
• the Up Nozzle series, which is engineered for compact, tight-space applications with low shot weights
• new solutions for luxury and eco-friendly parts in the beauty and personal care industry.
